Veggi Frankie

We need: Potato 2 Benas 10 Carrots 2 Eggs 1 Onion chopped 1/4 cup Any cheese grated 1/4 cup Tortila / Chapati 2 Oil 5 sps Salt to taste Cilantro chopped 1/4 cup Chili powder 1/4 sp Haldi 1 pinch Method: Heat pan and add 3 sps oil. Add  onions and saute for few minutes. Now add chopped carrots, beans and potato. Add salt and haldi. Mix well. Cook on medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes. Now add chili powder and cook further till done.   Add cilantro and remove from heat.  Heat tawa  and warm the tortilla on  low flame.  Once the tortilla is half cooked add little beaten egg on top and spread it all over. Now turn it and cook for few seconds.  Do not add egg on the other side. Remove from heat.  Add this curry on top of the cooked tortilla and little grated cheese on top. Now slowly roll the tortilla and serve hot. Check to see what my fellow bloggers are cooking for BM 24.

Mixed Veggi Samosa

Today's recipe is veggi samosa. Used boiled potato, beans and carrots. My son is very picky eater. So I make sure he eats all the veggies with his fav food. He loves samosa, for today I planned to make stuffing with the 3 veggies  which he hates. And I was success, he ate the samosa's without noticing what was the stuffing made of. This recipe is dedicated to my son. Here goes the recipe.... We need: Potato 2 small Carrot 1 medium Beans 6 Maida / All purpose flour  1cup Sooji 1sp Oil to deep fry Salt to taste Water Haldi Garam masala 1/4 sp Amchur powder 1/4 sp Cumin seeds 1/4sp Green chili 1 Cilantro chopped 1/4 cup Ajwai 1/4sp Method: Add salt, Sooji and ajwai to maida and mix well. Add 1 sp oil and water to make a stiff dough. Rest it aside  for 15 to 20 minutes. To make the filling heat pan and add 2 sps oil. Add cumin seeds and green chili. Saute and add boiled and chopped potatoes. Also add 1/2 boiled beans and carrots. Make sure all the veggi are cut into small pieces. S

Mixed Veg Kurma

  For the 4th week of BM 24 I choose to cook mixed veggies in different forms. I choose Potato, beans and carrots as my combination of veggies. We can  cook lots of varieties with these veggies. For the day 1, I made mixed veggie kurma. Super simple to make and tastes yummy with pulao, naan , roti  etc... Beans, carrot and potato are 3 different colors, so the curry is not  only tasty its also colorful. Here goes the recipe......  We need: Potato 2 small Beans 10 Carrots 2 Onion 1 large Ginger garlic paste 1/2sp Poppy seeds 4 sps Cloves 2 Cinnamon stick 1/2 inch Cardamom 2 Salt to taste Oil 3sps Coconut milk / coconut paste(fresh) 1/2 cup Haldi 1/4 sp Green chili 2 Curry leaves 4 Chopped cilantro 1/4 cup Method: Heat pan and add oil. Now add chopped onion, curry leaves and slit green chilies. Saute till golden brown. Now add chopped potato, beans and carrots.Also add salt and haldi. Bhindi Do Pyaza

Many people do not like Okra for its stickiness. But its my fav veggi.  To remove the stickiness of okra, while cooking add little lime juice to the curry and mix well. Today I choose and item from  Hamari pasand from the restaurant India House Vegetarian Restaurant .So today's recipe is  Bhindi Do pyaza. Which means Okra cooked with sliced onions. To add little more taste we add tomatoes.  Here is the recipe.... We need: Bhindi / Okra  1 lb or 1/2 kg Onion 1 small Green chili 3 Mustard seeds 1/4 sp Cumin seeds 1/4 sp Haldi 1/4 sp Chili powder 1/2 sp Salt to taste Tomato 1 medium Garam masala 1/2 sp Oil 1/4cup Chopped cilantro 1/4 cup Method: Wash the okra and dry it with dry cloth or tissue. Cut each okra into 1 inch length. Heat 3sps oil  in pan and add okra. Fry till they are 1/2 cooked. Transfer to another plate and add rest of the oil to pan. Now add mustard seeds, cumin, and sliced onions. Fry for few minutes and add chopped tomato. Cook on medium flame  till tomatoes are sof

Chole Bhatura

Today's recipe is  Chole Bhatura. This is one of the recipe which I was planning to cook since long time. When Valli announced this theme cooking from a Restaurant Menu. I first checked if there was chole bhatura.  So for today I choose Chole Bhatura under the menu "Subha ho ya shaam" from India House Vegetarian Restaurant . Finally am here with this yummy dish which can be had as a breakfast, lunch or as a snack.  Chole Bhatura is a popular dish from Punjab India.Chole is made wiht the combination of chickpeas and spices. Bhatura is a fried bread made of Maida/ all purpose. Aloo Methi Palak

  Back with 24th Edition of blogging marathon. This week's theme iscooking from a  restaurant menu. I choose India House Vegetarian Restaurant . And  for the first day am cooking 1 dry curry  which is Aloo methi palak from Hari Bhari Sabjiyah. Its very simple and tastes yummy.   We need: Aloo/ Potato  3 Methi chopped 1 cup Palak/ spinach 2 cups Onion chopped 1/2 cup Salt to taste Haldi 1/2 Chili powder 1 sp Green chili 2 Mustard seeds 1/2 sp Cumin seeds 1/2 sp Garlic cloves 3 Oil 4 sps Method: Boil the potatoes with skin. Let them cool and peel the skin off. Cut the boiled potatoes to bite size pieces. Heat oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and crushed garlic. Saute for a minute and add chopped onions and green chilies. Once the onions change into golden brown, add washed and chopped methi leaves and spinach. Also add haldi, salt and chili powder. Cover with lid and cook on medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes. Now add potato pieces and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes or till it
