Healthy Omlet

Today's breakfast dish is helathy omlet. Omlet is a dish made from beaten eggs and sometimes added with some veggies  and cheese. All depends on your taste and preferences. Here goes the recipe..... We need: Eggs 4 Chopped onions 1/4 cup Chopped Tomato 1/4 cup Chopped cilantro 2 sps Chopped Spinach 3sps Chopped green chili 1/2 sp Diced or sliced mushrooms 1/4 cup Chopped bellpepper ( any color) 1/4 cup Milk 1/4 cup Salt to taste Oil 1 sp Haldi pinch Black pepper powder 1/4 sp Method: Add all the cut veggies into mixing bowl. For better taste cut veggies into very small pieces.                                       Add salt, haldi and pepper powder to veggies and mix well. Now break down eggs  in separate bowl and beat well.  Quantity of veggies depends on your taste. Now add veggies and fold properly so that veggies are mixed well into beaten eggs. Now add milk and mix it again. Heat skillet, add oil and spread all over the pan. Now pour the egg mixture onto pan and cook on medium

Blueberry Pancake's

Breakfast on the run....which means anything that can be made with in 30 minutes. 99% of people are always hurry in having their breakfast. So why not make quick and healthy breakfast for your family. Today's recipe is buleberry pancake's. Made these lovely pancakes with store bought pancake mix. Am sure you'll enjoy every bite of these yummy pancakes..... here goes the recipe......   We need: Pancake mix 2 cups Eggs 2 Milk 1 cup Blueberries Honey / maple syrup Method: Add eggs and milk to pan cake mix. Also mix blueberries. Heat pan and add little butter to melt. Now add 1/4 cup of mixed pan cake mixture on to the pan. Cook on low flame. After 30 seconds flip over and cook for another 30 to 40 seconds. Serve hot with honey or maple syrup. Check to see what my fellow bloggers are cooking for BM 25.

Scrambled Egg Toast

Today we are starting with 4th weeks theme "Breakfast on the run ".  Today's recipe is very simple yet healthy dish. We need: Bread slices 4 Eggs 2 Milk 1/4 cup Butter 1/2 sp Black pepper powder to taste Salt to taste Method: Beat eggs in a mixing bowl add milk and salt to taste. Heat pan add butter. Now add egg mixture and black pepper powder. Mix well and cook on low flame. Keep stiring till done. Add cheese if u like to. Toast bread on pan or toaster. Spread the cooked  scrambled egg mixture on toasted bread and top it with another bread. Serve hot or warm with a cup of milk. Check to see what my fellow bloggers are cooking for BM 25.  

Shahi Pulao

Shahi Pulao is one of the simplest pulao to be made. Can be served with any veg or non veg gravy curry. We need: Basmathi rice 2 cups Onion slices 1/2 cup Green chilies 3 Cilantro chopped 1/4 cup Mint chopped 1/4 cup Jeera / cumin 1/2 sp Shah jeera 1/4 sp Cloves 2 Cinnamon 1/2 inch thick stick 1 Bay leaf 1 Cardamom 2 Salt to taste Oil 14 cup Garam masala powder 1/2 sp Method: Wash and soak rice in water for 30 minutes. Heat pan add oil , jeera and shah jeera. Now add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, bay leaf and green chilies. Saute for a minute and add sliced onions. Cook till golden brown. Now add chopped mint and cilantro leaves. Mix well and add soaked rice without water. Fry for few minutes  and add 3 1/2 cups water. Cook on low flame will done. Ginger and Cinnamon Tea

Ginger and cinnamon tea is perfect for the winter season. Specially to the one who is suffering with cold,  cough, flu and sore throat. A healthy drink that's great for digestion and nausea.   We need: Ginger 1 inch thick Sugar to taste Water 1/2 cup cup Cinnamon powder 1/4 sp Milk  1 cup Tea powder 1sp Method: Boil water in pan. Add tea powder, grated ginger, sugar and cinnamom powder to  boiling water. Boil for 5 minutes on medium flame. Now add milk and bring it to boil. Add sugar to taste. Filter the tea and serve hot. Namak para

Today we are starting the second group of Bm 25. My theme for this week is cooking with alphabet's. Today's recipe is a snack recipe called Namak para. Its a crunchy savoury snack from India. Here goes the recipe....... We need: Maida / All purpose flour  1 cup Melted Ghee / butter 3 sps Ajwain / Carom Seeds 3/4 tsp Salt to taste Oil for deep frying Method: Add ajwain and salt   to flour. Now add melted butter and mix well. Using water little at a time make the flour into  soft dough. Cover it and let it rest for 30minutes. Now knead the dough    for 4 to 5 minutes and divide it into 6 equal portions.  Heat oil in deep frying pan. Now roll each dough ball into big circle like chapati. Using knife cut it into long strips or as diamond shape. Drop each strip or piece into oil slowly. Fry few at a time. Fry till golden brown on medium flame. Remove and let them cool to serve. Banana stuffed crepes

Today's recipe is from Thai Cuisine. A dessert called stuffed banana crepes. Its very simple and tasty. Few simple ingredients which are always available at home. Thai cuisine has always been my favorite as the dishes are some what similer to indian dishes. Simple ingredients and lite food. I bought this Thai recipes book from a book shop which had lots of simple and delicious dishes.  Here is the recipe for todays yummy dish.... We need: Maida / All purpose flour 1 1/2 cup Brown sugar / sugar 2tbsp Eggs 2 Milk 1 3/4 cup Lime juice 1 Butter  2oz Banana's 3 Corn syrup / maple syrup 4 tbsp Method: Add sugar, eggs and half the milk to flour and mix well. Beat until smooth. Slowly add rest of the milk to make a smooth batter. Also add lime juice. Heat pan / skittet and melt little butter. Now pour quarter of the batter and spread it all over to amke thin crepe. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes on low flame and flip over to cook on other side. Repeat the same with rest of the batter. Slice b

Stuffed Bell Peppers( Bharwaan Mirchi)

Today's recipe is from the same cook book"  Indian Home cooking" . It was difficult for  me to choose what to cook for today because this book has lots of veg and non veg recipes. Finally I wanted to cook something which I never tried. Bought some fresh bell peppers from farmers market today and tried Bharwaan Mirchi which is a stuffed bell pepper recipe. It was soo simple to cook and  also colorful as I used 3 different colored  peppers.  We need: Bell peppers / Capsicum  3( any color) Potato 2 medium Coriander seeds 1sp Cumin seeds 1sp Green chili chopped 1/2 sp Chili powder 1sp Chopped cilantro 2sps Chopped mint leaves 1sp 1 lime juice Salt to taste Black pepper powder 1/4sp Oil 2sps 1 egg Method: Boil the potatos in presser cooker. Let them cool, peel off skin and mash it. Meanwhile cut around the stems of bell pepper, removing about 2 inch round from the top od each bell pepper pull out and discard these tops. Scrape out the ribs and seeds with spoon or small knife.

Zarda Pulao

We are starting 25th Edition of Blogging Marathon today. Its been awesome doing different themes for each marathon. I have been part of BM since its 5th edition. I wonder how Srivalli comes up with such a wonderful themes. It was more fun seeing and learning new and different recipes from all the lovely bloggers. My theme for the 1st week of Bm 25  is Cooking from a Cook Book.  I bought the book "Indian home Cooking" by Suvir Saran and Stephanie Iyness from the local library. It had variety of recipes from soups to sweets. For today I choose a different rice recipe which is called Zarda Pulao. This simi sweet dish has lots of nuts  and  flavored with saffron. Any gravy curry goes well with this. We need: Basmathi rice 2cups Water 4 cups Saffron threads 1/4 sp Milk 1sp Oil or ghee 1/4 cup Cinnamon 2inch stick Green cardamom 10 crushed Grated ginger 1sp Raisins / currants 1/4 cup Blanched almonds 1/4 cup Cashew nuts 1/4 cup Sugar 1/4 cup Method: Wash rice throughly and soak in
