Nuvvula Karam Podi / Sesame Spicy Powder

Nuvvulu / Til / Sesame seeds spice powder is popular Andhra. It is healthy and tasty spice powder usually served with idli, dosa, upma and even with hot steamed rice with some ghee / clarified butter. This particular spice powder can also be added to dry curries  at the end to give a nice and unique flavor and taste to the dish.  This powder is healthy too as the sesame seeds are rich in Calcium, iron and fiber. Adding flax seeds makes the dish even more healthier because flax seeds helps lower the blood presser and bad cholesterol, reduce the risk of cancer and helps in weight loss too. This recipes is from one  of my  friend's mom, who  made this spice powder and served it with idli and dosa for a small gathering we had some time ago.  This recipes goes to week 2, day 3 of Blogging Marathon 101 under the theme " Condiments".... Til Ka Khatta / Til ka Chutney

Til  ka khatta or Til ka Chutney is a tangy and nutty gravy that is perfect to serve with Hyderabadi Khichdi. Simple and delicious gravy made with Til ( sesame seeds ) and Peanuts along with tamarind juice which gives sourness ( Khatta ) to the gravy.  This recipes goes to week 2, day 2 of Blogging Marathon 101 under the theme “ Condiments”.... Ingredients: Sesame seeds 1/2 cup Peanuts 1/2 cup Tamarind Juice 1 cup Sliced onions 1/2 cup Curry leaves 6 Salt to taste Mustard seeds  1/2 spoon Cumin seeds 1/2 spoon Red chili 1 Chopped cilantro 2 spoons Oil 3 spoons Preparation: Dry roast sesame seeds and peanuts separately. Peel the skin of peanuts and grind them along with sesame seeds  and some water to make a smooth paste. Add this paste to a bog serving bowl. Add tamarind juice and sliced onions to the paste and mix well. Lets prepare tempering now. Heat oil in and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chili and ginger garlic paste. Strawberry Syrup

Homemade fresh strawberry syrup is an easy recipes with just 4 ingredients. Just add all the ingredients into pan, cook, cool and use it, as simple as that. Perfect topping for pancakes, ice creams, waffles, cheese cakes and many more. Can also be added to cocktails or mocktails too.  I have used this sauce to make Strawberry Virgin Mojito . This recipe goes to Week 2, day 1 of Blogging Marathon 101 under the theme " Condiments". Ingredients: Fresh Strawberries chopped 1 cup Sugar 1/2 cup Lime juice 1 tbsp Water 1/2 cup Preparation: Add all the ingredients into a sauce pan and bring it to boil. Once the mixture starts to boil reduce the flame and continue cooking until strawberries are mushy. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool for sometime. Now using potato masher, mash the mixture to become thick paste. Let the syrup  cool completely before transferring into any  bottle to store in refrigerator. This sauce can be drizzled on ice cream, pancake, cheese cakes or waffle
