Rose Milk with Basil seeds / Sabja seeds

Rose milk is the easiest summer drink made in minutes. This is a kids friendly milk shake made with rose syrup, basil seeds and cold milk. Yummy and delicious summer drink with lovely pink color. I must say girls will go crazy to drink this milkshake after seeing this nice and pleasant pink color. My daughter did love this drink seeing her favorite pink color and my son was kind of ok with it. Sabja seeds are basically called as Tukumaria or sweet basil seeds are commonly used in falooda, sherbet and in many Indian drinks. IT is believed in India that these seeds help to beat the summer heat and keeping the body cool. These seeds resembles like Chia seeds, but far different from each other. These seeds are rich in fiber and vitamin K. This recipe goes to the final week and final day of BM 64, under the theme " Summer coolers". Mint Lassi

Mint leaves are the tender herb that have gentle stems and are best used raw are added at the end of the cooking in order to maintain their flavor and texture. Mint is relatively easy to grow and  can be grown even in a small pot. Mint is commonly used to flavor Middle Eastern dishes, such as lamb, soups and vegetable salads. Adding mint is a great way to add flavors to a dish or beverage without adding excessive calories or sugar. Mint leave are widely used as a digestive aid. Fresh mint leaves not only add flavor but also adds nutrition to many different recipes. Chewing on whole leaves may have many health benefits too. Lassi is a healthful yogurt based  drink popular through out India. Adding Fresh mint to yogurt makes a wonderful , refreshing and soothing drink for the hot summer day. Aam Panna

Finally summer is here and its time to make some fresh, chilled and refreshing drinks to beat the heat. Aam panna or green mango panna or raw mango juice is an Indian drink which is a great remedy for heat stroke.  Aam panna is made of green mangoes, sugar and some Indian spices.  Green mango is a rich source of pectin, it is sour in taste. It is also a good source of Vitamin B and C. This the prefect and ideal drink  for hot summer days. Today we are starting with 4th week of Blogging Marathon #64. My theme for this week is "Kids Delight- Summer cookers". For next 3 days  I will be posting 3 super delicious and refreshing drinks to beat the heat. Here is the recipe for 1st days post- Aam Panna. Dill Paratha

Dill is an annual herb from in the celery family.Fresh and dried dill leaves are widely used herb in Europe and Central Asia. In India Dill is called as Shepu in Marathi, Savaa in Hindi, Soa- kura in Telugu, Suva in Gujrathi and Shatapushpa in Sanskrit.  In India Dill is  added to any kind of lentils as a Main course dish.  Chopped dill can be cooked with potatoes, can be added to wheat flour and made paratha. It is considered to have very good anti-gas properties, so it is used as mukhwas or after a meal for digestion. It is also traditionally given to mothers immediately after childbirth. For day 3, week 2 of BM 64 under the theme " Wheat recipes" am here with a dish with dill leaves and wheat flour.  Here is the recipe which is very simple, delicious and healthy paratha with dill. Spicy Wheat Crackers

Crunchy and crispy snacks are always welcome in my home.  Today's recipe is also one  such kind of snacks, which is yummy and  healthy. These thin and crispy wheat  crackers  are made of whole wheat flour and simple Indians spices which are easily available at home. The process is little lengthy but believe me,  they are super delicious to munch on with your evening tea / coffee. This recipe goes to the 2nd day of Week 2, BM 64. Here goes the recipe...... Ingredients: Wheat flour 1 cup Sesame seeds  1 spoon Carom seeds / Ajwai 3/4 spoon Curry leaves 4 Salt to taste Turmeric powder 1/2 spoon Chili powder 1 spoon Water to make dough Oil for deep frying Preparation: Chop curry leaves into very small pieces. In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients except water and oil. Mix together well and 3 spoons oil. Mix well. Now add water little at a time to make  a stuff dough. Cover and let it rest for 1 hour. Wheat & Banana Appam

Wheat flour appam are very easy to make.  These soft and spongy appam can be made within no time. These can be made with all purpose flour too, but to make it healthy dish I have used whole wheat flour. It make it even more healthier I have added ripe banana puree too. Just mix all the ingredients and fry them. Here I have deep fried the appam's. You can even use the Appe pan to make these delicious appam.  This recipe goes to the  week 2 and  1st day of BM 64 under the theme Wheat recipes....  Here goes the recipe.... Ingredients: Wheat flour 1 cup Rice flour 1/3 cup Ripe banana 2 Jaggery 1/2 cup Sugar 3 spoons Soda bi Carbonate 1  pinch Salt 1 pinch Elachi powder 1/2 spoon (optional) Dry coconut small pieces 2 spoons ( optional) Water  Oil for deep frying Preparation: Add 1/4 cup water to sugar and jaggery in sauce pan.
