Potato Stuffed Bread Rolls

Breakfast is the first and most important meal of the day. It is said that we have to eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar. The menu varies from place to place. Globally there are very wide range of preparations and ingredients that are associated with breakfast. Me being south Indian, out typical breakfast consists of idly, dosa, upma, poori etc.... Now that I am living in USA for quite sometime now, we have changed our menu to cereal, toasted bread, oatmeal, scrambled eggs etc.... I sometimes mix and match the menu and ingredients involved in it.  Today's recipe is one such mix and match dish of french toast and bread roll. I had some left over  potato which I used for making parathas. Here I will cutting the edges of bread then roll it to make it thin. Fill it with potato and fold it to dip in  beaten eggs. Cinnamon Roll

Cinnamon roll is a Swedish sweet roll made of yeast leavened dough. These delicious rolls are filled with ground  cinnamon and sugar. Baked and then coated with sugar frosting. In Sweden Cinnamon rolls are enjoyed during coffee break or Fika which means get together with friends. In America these rolls are served for breakfast or as a dessert. These simple yet delicious cinnamon rolls are my family favorite rolls. Try making them with your kids, they would love it I promise. This recipe is adapted from here . Herbed Garlic Knots

Today's recipe is my kids all time favorite snack. It has been on my to do list for a quite some time now. Found this simple recipe on Food Network Magazine last week. Believe me its very simple to make with just few ingredients. I have used store bought pizza dough along with some minced garlic, parsley, butter and olive oil.  Perfect snack for kids to have after school. This recipe  goes to day 3 of BM 98 under Kids Delight- School Closer - Bites / Snacks. Here goes the recipe.......   Ingredients: Pizza dough 1 lb Butter 3 tbsp Olive oil 2 tbsp Garlic cloves 3 minced Parsley minced 3 tbsp Red chili flakes 1/4 spoon Salt to taste Preparation: Cut pizza dough into 4 equal portions. Nutella French Toast Roll Ups

These are quick and easy to make Nutella French Toast Roll Ups. Its a great breakfast treat or after school snack or  can be packed in a lunch box.  My kids LOVE Nutella, but they do not like french toast. This is the best way to feed picky eaters like mine with their favorite chocolate spread inside the roll ups.  This recipe goes to  day 3 of Week 2, under the theme "Cooking on Tawa". If you like you can even chop some strawberries / raspberries / banana or any other fruit and place the fruit slices on top of nutella and then roll the bread before cooking on tawa / skillet. Hello friends ! Feels so good to be back, blogging after almost 2 months break. Was in India ( Hyderabad) to attend my sister's wedding, met all my relatives and friends. Feels so good to see all of them at one place  after so many years. Unfortunately couldn't meet any of the food bloggers :( Will plan to meet in the next visit for sure. Banana Walnut and Dates Bread

Banana is one of my favorite fruit.  This is one of the recipe which  I  wanted to make but was keep postponing since very long time. I like the Banana Walnut bread which we get in Starbucks. Its been a while I had it. Thought why not make it at home and enjoy it with a cup of coffee. It make this bread more tasty I have added chopped dates also along with chopped walnuts.  Very simple to prepare yet healthy. Bread Pizza

My kids are a big fan of pizza. Birthday party or a play date pizza is a must for my kids. They love it so much. I usually make pizzas in the weekend or on Friday for dinner. But today my daughter was insisting to make pizza,  it was also time for my son to come back from school, thought why not make a instant pizza with bread. Bread Pizza which can be made in no time. Just cut the veggies which you have, spread pizza sauce, throw some veggies on top and of course on pizza without cheese, so add some cheese  on top. And that's it, toast these slices in  a toaster oven or on stove top. Bombay Sandwich

For day 3, my day started with a simple yet delicious Nasta- Bombay Sandwich. This is one of the simplest dishes to prepare for breakfast or mid day snack. Perfect to carry for picnic's  and lunch lunch boxes too. This is one of the dish which is light yet filling. Mumbai or Bombay has been my Favorite city for long time. Couldn't spend much time there but loved the city, specially the Mumbai monsoon, shopping malls, food and of course I loved the local train journey. You might be thinking what this girl likes Mumbai crowded train journey? But yes I used to enjoy them. Today for day 3, under Restaurant menu- pick a menu card, am choose to cook  one of the most delicious snack "Bread Cutlet" from Satya Asha Restaurant.   This is one of the simplest and healthy snack which my family liked, specially kids. Bread Cutlet can be served as  evening snack, party snack  as a starter. You can use any kind of bread like whole grain, wheat or white bread. I used white bread here and just added boiled potato for binding. Potato is one vegetable which my family loves.  As brinjal , potato is also loved by most of them around the world. I also heard that potato  skins along with honey is used as remedy for burns in India. Burn centers in India  have experimented with  the use of the thin outer skin layer to protect burns while healing. Potatoes are prepared in many ways with or without skin. Steamed or fried or baked. There are N number of recipes with potatoes. For today, end day , week 2 of BM 38, am here with potato toast / potato sandwich. Simple and delicious  snack for mid day, after school or for breakfast. Double Ka Meetha

 Today we are starting with 1st week of BM 35. For this week I choose to cook Dessert, which can be served warm or chilled.  Hyderabad is popular for its  Dum Biryani with Mirchi Ka Salan and  to end the meal with yummy dessert "Double ka Meetha". Double Ka Meetha is Dessert made with fried bread soaked in hot milk and sugar syrup with some dry fruits. This dessert is popular in Hyderabadi Cuisine, usually served during weddings or during Festive month of Ramadan and Eid. This rich and delicious dessert is good to serve after a spicy meal. Instead of soaking the bread in hot milk, I made rabri to to top the fried bread. Here goes the recipe.... We need: Bread slices 6 Milk 2 cups Sugar 1 cup Water 1 cup Elachi powder 1/4 sp Ghee for deep frying Dry fruits of  your choice 1/4 cup Method: Add water to sugar in  a pan to make a syrup. Scrambled Egg Toast

Today we are starting with 4th weeks theme "Breakfast on the run ".  Today's recipe is very simple yet healthy dish. We need: Bread slices 4 Eggs 2 Milk 1/4 cup Butter 1/2 sp Black pepper powder to taste Salt to taste Method: Beat eggs in a mixing bowl add milk and salt to taste. Heat pan add butter. Now add egg mixture and black pepper powder. Mix well and cook on low flame. Keep stiring till done. Add cheese if u like to. Toast bread on pan or toaster.
