Mango Frozen Yogurt

Image
Mangoes are my favorite fruit, its the prefect season to make use of them make some delicious treat for our family. Summer is fast approaching and everybody loves to have some frozen treats.  You can check out my other recipes with fresh mangoes at the end of today's recipe.  I am a typical Andhra girl, in our culture a meal is ended with curd rice, but my meal used to end with either rasam or sambar.  I never liked yogurt / curd. My family tried a lot to  feed me yogurt, I tried once too but somehow I didn't like the taste and flavor of it. After coming to US, I used to see these flavored frozen yogurt stores everywhere. My Kids love yogurt and I just gave it a try to see how it tastes. As they were fruit flavors didn't feel like i was eating yogurt or curd. Slowly I  developed my taste in having flavored yogurts.  Today for week 1 day 3 of BM 100, I will be posting about Mango Frozen yogurt. To be frank I have made this mango frozen yogurt for myself though it is a Kids D

Pineapple Slush

Image
Spring is here and Summer is just around the  corner and its the perfect time to have frozen treats. So why not make use of our tropical fruits and make some frozen treats for our family. My kids love pineapple juice instead of  the fruit.  So today I will be preparing Pineapple slush  and surprise my kids after the school.  A slush or slushy is a flavored ice. Add your favorite fruit to the crushed ice along with some honey or sugar if the fruit is sour or not that sweet, and blend it. That's it, slush is ready to be served. It can be made ahead of time and then freeze it.  This recipe goes to Week 1,  day 2 of Blogging Marathon 100 under the theme " Frozen Desserts".  Ingredients: Pineapple diced 1-1/2 cup Crushed Ice 1-1/2 cup Pineapple juice  3/4 -1  cup Honey 1 tbsp Preparation: Add all the ingredients into blender and blend until smooth. Pour it in a serving glass, garnish with pineapple chunks or rings. Serve. Check to see what my fellow bloggers are cooking for Bl

No Churn - Oreo Ice Cream

Image
After a month long Mega Marathon, we are back to our regular marathon from today. Took up a simple theme to just chill and relax my mind. Another reason I choose this theme was for my kids. Summer is approaching and we all love to have some frozen treats like ice creams, frozen yogurts etc.... My Kids love ice  creams and oreos are their favorite cookies. I have been thinking to make ice cream with these 2 ingredients for quite sometime now.  Coming to Blogging Marathon,  this month we are stepping into 100th edition. I have been part of this marathon since 5th edition. It was a wonderful journey so far. Learnt lots of things from fellow bloggers. Learnt different types of food, learnt how to take picture and many more. Except few who stay in Jersey, haven't met others in person. Hope I get a chance to meet all of them someday.  So here I am with a simple and kids favorite Oreo Ice cream with just 3 ingredients. This recipe goes to day 1 of BM 100 under the theme " Frozen Dess

Round up of 26 Delicious Biryani / Pulao / Khichdi Recipes with Grains

Image
What an amazing month this April was. It was my first time participating in Mega Marathon, where a group of bloggers get together and blog for whole month non stop, except Sundays. I was bit worried when I said yes to this Marathon, as the theme was so tempting, I took it  up and challenged myself that I can do it. And yes I did it, posted all the recipes on time.  The theme was cooking Biryani / Pulao / Khichdi recipes with only grains. There were 2 choices for me to select, either to cook in A-Z order or cook randomly which I choose to do. Initially when  I was preparing list of dishes to cook I thought will I be getting 26, but when I sat down to write the list was going on and ended up with almost 70 dishes. But as the we had to cook only 26, I still feel there should  be at least 1 or 2  more months to cook the list of dishes I made. I thoroughly enjoyed cooking and posting the recipes everyday. And of course  reading my fellow bloggers recipes and commenting  on them.  I cant tha
