Black Bean Pulao

Are you a fan of one pot meals like me and want to save time and have less cleaning in your kitchen? Here is one such recipe which is not only easy to prepare but also a healthy and nutritious meal for your entire family. Like lentils and legumes like black beans are high in protein and fiber. For this recipe you can  use store bought canned black beans or soak the beans at home and use them. Black bean pulao tastes amazing with mild spices used in this recipe. Rice being staple food for us, I always looks for simple and quick recipes that can go into lunch boxes and also perfect for dinner and lunch. I can say that today's recipe is a perfect 1 pot meal for all age groups. Paneer Peas Pulao is a quick and delicious dish made with simple and basic flavors.  Accomplished by simple raita makes it a perfect meal for lunch or dinner. Pasta is a type of Italian food typically made from an unleavened dough of durum wheat flour, mixed with water or eggs and formed into sheets or various shapes, then cooked by boiling or baking. Rice flour or legumes such as beans or lentils are also used in place of wheat flour to yield a different taste and texture as a gluten free alternative. Pasta is a stable food of Italian Cuisine. Today i am going to give pasta an Indian touch and prepare a simple, spicy Pasta Pulao. This is a quick and tasty one pot meal which you can make for weekday dinners or for Lunch boxes too. Add your favorite veggies or your favorite meat too with some spices. A very different pulao dish which is typically made with rice, we will replacing pasta in place of rice. With the holidays approaching you might want to spend more time with your family rather than spending much of your time spending in the kitchen. On the other hand, when my family is eating a single dish I want the meal to be tasty, filling and a healthy one too. Brown Rice- Veg Pulao

Brown rice is whole grain rice with the inedible outer hull removed, white rice is the same grain with the hull. Brown rice is a good source of magnesium, vitamin B6 and high in fiber. Brown rice generally needs longer cooking times than white rice. Today's recipe is Rice dish -Pulao, with Brown rice and lots of veggies. Pulao or pilaf or pilau is a one pot rice dish. Rice being the main ingredient, others could be mixed veggies or meat along with some spices. Unlike Biryani which need lots of spices, Pulao is a milder version of rice dish. Beetroot Pulao

The beetroot is the taproot portion of the beet plant. The deep purple roots of the beetroot are eaten boiled, roasted or raw.  The green leafy portion of the beet is also edible.  Beetroot can also be used to make  wine. Other than food beets are used as a food coloring and as medicinal plant. Beetroot has many health benefits like they are high in immune boosting vitamin C, fiber  and essential minerals like manganese and potassium. It is also helpful in reducing blood pressure. Soybeans have been recognized as a plant food that is relatively high in Protein. Historically soybeans have been called  "meat of the field" or meat without bones. I had some guests last night, some were vegetarians  and some eat meat. Made Chicken biryani for my non vegetarians guests. Wanted  to make something similar to my veggi guests too but with out meat. All of us know Chicken is a protein food. One which is equivalent to chicken which is high in protein is Soy bean. Decided to make this  delicious Soybeans  Pulao for my Vegetarian guests. Rajma or the  red kidney beans  are very popular in India. Although the kidney bean is not of Indian origin, it is part of regular diet in Northern part of India. Methi Chaman Biryani

For day 3 under Biryani's in different styles, am here with delicious Methi Chaman Biryani.  Flavorful biryani made with fenugreek leaves, paneer and some spices.  When Srivalli announced the theme Biryani in different style, I thought of making Biryani with meat for all 3 days. I usually make biryani with Chicken, eggs, shrimp, goat and fish. Made biryani with mixed veggies too, but wanted to make something different this time. I had lots of Methi leaves at home and thought why not make some rice dish with these leaves. Paneer methi chaman curry is popular in Northern India. Came through this dish when I was looking for some Paneer dishes online. Then I googled  to see why Paneer got its name as Chaman. Though I couldn't find proper info about this but got inspired to make Biryani with the methi leaves and paneer. Egg Biryani

For day 2, made simple and delicious Egg Biryani.Boiled Eggs are  fried in ground paste made with cilantro, mint and green chilies  with some spices. Then cooked in soaked  long grain rice with onions, carrots and green peas. I added carrots and green peas jut to give some extra flavor and to look colorful. You can skip adding them if you do not want to. Mushrooms are a low-calorie food usually eaten cooked or raw and as garnish  to a meal. M ushrooms are a good source of vitamin B, and   are used in many cuisines  like   Chinese, Korean, European, Japanese and Indian. Indians replace Mushrooms in the place of meat.  For day 2 of BM 38, I made healthy and delicious Tomato Mushroom Pulao. This 1 pot meal is simple and easy to prepare in under 40 minutes. Who doesn't  like  Palak Paneer, it is one of the popular dish in North India. Pongal is a popular rice   dish in all South Indian  states. Pongal is made in different ways, sweet pongal and hot pongal or Ven pongal. This spicy pongal is a famous breakfast dish in India. Spicy  Pongal is usually made with rice, moong dal and black pepper.This is a traditional south indian dish which is offered to god during festivals.
