Fresh Strawberry Lemonade

Today we are starting with 65th Edition of Blogging Marathon and my theme for Week 1 is "Summer Coolers".  Strawberries are in season and my kids love strawberries. As this is the Kids Delight event am here with a super easy, refreshing and quick  summer drink- Strawberry Lemonade. I have added sugar to this recipe, to make it more healthier add honey instead of sugar. Serve it chilled. 

Last week I have posted 3 more summer coolers - Rose Milk with Sabja seeds, Aam panna and Mint Lassi. The next one which comes under this category is Strawberry Lemonade.This recipes goes to the week 1 and day 1 of BM 65. Here goes the recipe....





Ingredients:

Fresh Strawberries 1 cup
Sugar 1/2 cup
Water 1 cup
Lemon juice 3/4 cup
3 cups cold water
Ice cubes 


Preparation:

Add sugar to 1 cup water and bring it to boil.
Let the sugar syrup cool down to room temperature.
Wash strawberries well and place them in a blender to make a smooth paste.
Now add the strawberry paste  and lemon juice to sugar syrup and mix well.
Add 3 cups cold water and some ice cubes.
Stir it well and serve.

Today's fritters are from Burmese Cuisine. Burmese includes dishes from various regions of the Southeast Asian country Burma which is now known as Myanmar. Blueberry Sorbet

Sorbet is a frozen dessert made from sweetened water with flavoring of fruit juice, puree or honey. Ice cream is based on a dairy product where as sorbet is served as a non-fat or low-fat alternative to Ice cream. Today's recipe is about Sorbet with a flavoring of fresh / frozen blueberries mixed with sugar, honey, buttermilk and lime juice. Blend everything together and freeze it, as simple as that.  This delicious frozen dessert goes to the 3rd day of BM under the theme "Fruits in different form". Ingredients: Blueberries fresh / frozen 2 cups Buttermilk low-fat / non-fat 1 cup Sugar 1/2 cup Lime / Lemon juice 1 spoon Vanilla extract 1/2 spoon Honey 2 to 3 spoons ( optional  for extra sweetness) Preparation: If using frozen blueberries, thaw them before using. Kaju Katli / Kaju Burfi

Kaju Katli also known as Kaju burfi is an Indian dessert made of Cashew nuts and sugar. Kaju Katli  has been in my to do list for a quite some time. Finally I made it for this Diwali. Diamond sweet is one of   my son's favorite sweet, yes " Diamond Sweet " that is what he calls it. The texture was't that smooth that we get in market but the taste was awesome.  Typically, Cashew nuts are soaked in water overnight then ground it into paste and added to sugar syrup to make a smooth dough. Few people make it in different way, make cashew nuts powder and add to sugar syrup. Either ways you make the taste and texture matters.
